Emphasis On Virtue
Introduction
Thirukkural is a world-famous Tamil book that teaches us to live with honesty and discipline. In one of the verses, Thiruvalluvar says:
Even greatness and wealth do not give a benefit as high as the gain from virtue
This means the benefits of virtue (good character, moral behavior, kindness) are greater than the benefits of wealth and fame. To explain this truth, let’s look at a touching incident in the life of a schoolboy named Janav.
